Thèmes de recherche

Emilie is conducting doctoral research “Does interactive coordination foster synchronisation skills?” within the project INTERACT funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR-23-CE28-0018-01), under the supervision of PhD Valentin Bégel (I3SP). She collaborates with I3SP colleagues (PhD Pauline Maillot, PhD Gwenaelle Ceyte, Prof Gilles Dietrich, PhD Sylvain Hanneton) and international researchers (Prof Sonja Kotz, Maastricht University; PhD Liam Cross and PhD Gray Atherton, University of Plymouth).

The main goal of this project is to boost children’s synchronisation skills with interactive coordination. We will pursue three specific aims: (1) test the social context effect in rhythmic tasks on children’s sensorimotor capacity; (2) test the social context effect in rhythmic tasks on the subsequent linguistic performance; (3) determine the electrophysiological correlates of synchronisation with and without social context.

Key words: rhythm, synchronisation, development, speech, virtual reality, EEG
