PhD project: Does interactive coordination foster synchronisation skills?

In collaboration with I3SP colleagues (PhD Pauline Maillot, PhD Gwenaelle Ceyte, PhD Prof. Gilles Dietrich, PhD Sylvain Hanneton) and international researchers (Prof. Sonja Kotz, Maastricht University; PhD Liam Cross and PhD Gray Atherton, University of Plymouth)

The main goal of this project is to boost children’s synchronisation skills with interactive coordination. The interaction with a partner will be simulated with virtual reality (VR). We will pursue three specific aims: (1) test the social context effect in rhythmic tasks on children’s sensorimotor capacity; (2) test the social context effect in rhythmic tasks on the subsequent linguistic performance; (3) determine the electrophysiological correlates of synchronisation with and without social context.
